Part of that delight is often choosing spectacular settings in which to build. More often, the setting is less than stellar, but the need is still for comfort, delight and peace of mind. Mark’s path has led him to create designs as though each space is a personal statement for those who use them. His purpose is to give each client the peace of mind that a masterful design and attentive service can provide. Mark’s clients know that they can trust him to guide them to the most appropriate response for their current and future needs.

Architect

Mark Nelson is an NCARB accredited Registered Architect based in Fort Worth, Texas. He currently specializes in custom residential and secondary homes and small commercial properties.He is proficient in redesigning/remodeling existing buildings. Intelligent, comfortable, responsible designs with a nod to the past, and an eye on the future are a hallmark of his work. Incorporating vernacular forms and Green practices ensure a timeless quality to his homes, creating spaces that embrace the casual elegance and gracious lifestyle expected by his clients. He is gifted in creating homes that feel like private resorts, and resorts that feel like private homes.

He is very interested in reusing and repurposing what is available to meet new needs in practical and thoughtful ways. Although well versed in Green best practices, he is carefully avoiding studying to become a LEED Accredited Professional.

Interior Designer

Mark Nelson is also a Licensed Interior Designer. His portfolio includes resort and hospitality work from over 20 years as a licensed professional. He is skilled in creating logical and functional plans with clever detailing that enhance the sophisticated leisure required by his clients.

He is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and contributes regularly to several Environmental charities, including Friends of the Katy Trail, National Arbor Day, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and others.
