New Construction | Starting Fresh

Often the only way to make it work is to start anew. Whether as sympathetic infill in an existing neighborhood or a blank canvas on untouched land, new construction provides the opportunity to create exactly what your dreams and your budget allow. Mark is adept at working responsibly with budgets and builders to keep things realistic.

When they first approached Mark to help them design a new home on an acreage lot for their young family, the clients had been steered into a monster two story Tudor stock design by a builder who was going to give them exactly what he wanted. Notice that this is not a Tudor. By listening to the clients and understanding their wishes, Mark presented several iterations of potential styles before landing on this Texas Hill Country inspired limestone and stucco design. This five bedroom, five bath home in the woods suits their lifestyle, their tastes and their needs. Trees reclaimed from clearing the site became beams and the mantel in the living areas, reclaimed wood from a family home in Mississippi became a feature wall in the master bedroom.
